That might mean that you don’t have to do too much to stay busy, but it also means that you should do everything you can to grow your business while there’s a demand for it.

Truck Wraps and Yard Signs

One marketing strategy that’s been working great lately is yard signs. It’s something that most contractors and service industry companies already do, but we thought it was still worth mentioning. If you aren’t already placing yard signs at your finished jobs be sure to do that. You’ll likely be able to get some of the homeowner’s neighbors to consider your services because of the trust they have in your company already doing a good job at another home.

Truck wraps are another great way to advertise and they’re fairly inexpensive. The best part about truck wraps is that you don’t have to have them cover your entire vehicle. You can put some stickers on your doors or tailgate and you don’t have to do it all at once. Another thing you could do is make some stickers for your employees, families, and friends. Stickers are a great way to have your community offer some support and exposure for your brand.

Digital Marketing Strategies

Digital marketing is essential, especially in a world that’s going ever more digital. There are a few different ways that you can approach your digital market. Two of the most common ways are either with the help of a digital marketing agency or on your own. Doing all of the marketing on your own can really eat up your time but if you’re still a smaller company or you’re just getting started there is a lot you can do.

Paid Ads

Google ads are a great way to use some of your marketing budget to reach more potential customers. With paid ads you can target specific keywords that you know people who need painting services will be searching. That means more eyes on your company and the chance to get some traffic to your website from people who are looking for services like yours.

Here’s a great video from Tim Brown and Sydnee Olson on the 5 Google Ads that All Contractors Should Have.

Painting Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search engine optimization or more commonly known as SEO is the process of optimizing your website, blog posts, and landing pages to be found in Google more easily. When someone searches for “painting services near me” your website should always be one of the first things that potential customers see. Here’s how the basics of SEO work, if you’re still confused or feel like SEO is more than you can handle, reach out to us! We’d love to help you with your painting SEO strategy.

Social Media

Lastly is social media. It’s not something that all contractors do but it is something that can help to add a lot of credibility to your business. Social media is a great resource for customers and it helps give you an opportunity to show off your work. Social media is a service that you can outsource but it’s important that you’re very involved in the process and that you don’t just leave it up to your marketing partner.

Physical Advertisements (Newspapers, Billboards, Mailers)

Physical advertisements are great as well. Newspapers, billboards, and mailers are all great uses of your marketing budget. But, don’t just spend a bunch of money without first testing the waters a bit. You’ll want to try and ensure that these methods produce for your business. Send out a few mailers or a put a few ads in the newspaper to start. If you get some hits then it makes sense to put a little more of your budget in that again.

When you’re crafting physical advertisements you can assume that your audience might be different than those you’re targeting via social media or other digital strategies. For that reason, be sure to try some different ideas instead of just recycling old content.

Google My Business (GMB)

Google my business is a simple tool that you can easily get set up. It’ll help you get more visibility on Google and give you the ability to be found on map apps such as Apple Maps and Google Maps. The best part about GMB is that it’s completely free to use. You might even already have one that’s been auto-generated for your business. Our SEO expert Cody Warren put together a video full of great tips for using and optimizing Google my business, check it out below.
