Roofing marketing is loud. Every week there’s a new guru with a course, a podcast and a “secret” funnel. So who’s actually worth listening to?
I asked my Facebook feed: Who are the voices in roofing marketing that you really trust, and are experts at getting attention and helping roofers get attention?
A few kind people named me and Hook. Thank you. I’m leaving us off this list. Here’s who everyone else picked, and the better question a few roofers raised along the way.
- SEO, AEO, Google Ads and LSA for roofers
- Published pricing, nothing hidden
- You own your website and ad accounts
“Not only is our site great, the ongoing guidance we get from Hook is exactly what we needed.”

First, ask the right question
Begs the question: good at getting attention from other roofers? Or good at getting the attention of their market?
Adam Rossman
This was the best comment in the thread. Plenty of people are famous among roofers. Fewer can get a homeowner in your town to pick up the phone. My answer: ideally both, but mostly homeowners. That’s what pays.
I wouldn’t look at who sells marketing, but at people you see who have obvious success from their marketing.
Jacob Fuchs

What roofers said about them
I went to a Chris Zimmerman show once and he changed my perspective on the documentation side of things and workflow. I also met Roof Hustlers, and he changed how my relationship works with homeowners and the roofing business. Both of these guys absolutely know what they’re talking about. They’re worth driving out to see 10x over. Take a bunch of notes!

Cory James Cullather, hands down. I’d trust him with anything. Cory legitimately wants to see you win, on every level. His integrity never changes. Ask him relationship advice, he’ll help. Ask him nutrition advice, he’ll help. Ask him about roofing, he’ll help. If he doesn’t know the answer, he’ll connect you with who does. I’ve watched a lot of people come and go over the last 15 years. Here’s the kicker: he’ll never ask anything of you, and that shows his heart.
Ben VanHorn
Chad Westbrook has an incredible system he uses to amplify his clients’ businesses. Most of the time people don’t even know your company exists. Chad and the Service Alignment team use four engines to grab the attention of leads from every direction at the exact time they’re looking for your service, then use the same system to nurture clients. It’s the coolest client acquisition and retention system I’ve ever seen.

Adam Bensman and his team at the Roofing Strong Alliance by TAMKO!
Jodi Thomas
Hands down, top of funnel: Rick with Market Storm. Bottom of funnel: Venveo, Zach Williams.
Ronnie Smith, Owner and CEO, NextLevel Solutions, Inc.
I like to learn marketing ideas from Tommy Mello, Marcus Sheridan, Jim Leslie, Dan Antonelli and you. To be honest, you all preach a lot of the same things.
Kyle Martel
Kyle’s last line matters. The real experts mostly agree: be useful, be visible in your market, build trust before you need it, answer every question honestly and track what works. If a guru’s advice sounds nothing like that, be careful.
Do you even need marketing?
If you own a roofing company in 2026 and you’re not pretty slammed with work, we most likely have a problem with the onboarding, delivery and offboarding processes. A great company needs next to zero marketing, for the most part.
Jeremy Griffin
Richie A Berry pushed back: it depends on the type and size of the company. I’m with Richie, mostly. A great experience creates referrals, and referrals are the best leads you’ll ever get. But a company trying to grow 50% a year can’t wait on referrals alone. Do both: deliver like Jeremy says, then market like you mean it.
The funny answers
The real question is, who is spending money with these so-called experts that they laud?
Joshua Miller
Do you mean besides Tera Dolan?
Mike Goldenstein
That’s a very short list you’re on for me.
Matthew Danskin
Tim Brown, but he never had openings in my area.
Randy J
Sorry, Randy.
Takeaways: how to pick a roofing marketing expert
- Look for results in a real market. Can they get homeowners to call, not just roofers to like their posts?
- Ask who they’ve helped, and call those roofers.
- Watch for consistency. The best people preach the same fundamentals year after year.
- Favor people who give before they ask. That came up again and again.
- Know who’s affiliated. Some recommendations come from inside the company. That’s fine. Just weigh them.
- Fix delivery first. Marketing amplifies whatever your customer experience already is.
