The move I made that unlocked serious growth for Royal Roofing, I would attribute to my social media game. So when I started this company, I said, I have got to get everyone in my social media network thinking about me when they think or hear of someone needing a new roof.

I was desperate. When I started my company almost four years ago, I had a goal of one roof a month, two is gonna let me live the dream. So I just went hard on it. I started posting stories. I was doing things on top of roof inspections to show homeowners, educate them about what was going on on their roof or maintenance options. drawing curiosity. I started posting pictures of things that were differentiating myself from my local competitors. And I started paying attention to what was creating more engagement. And then at some point, it became a strategy. And here we are today. So if I had to look back at one thing that I would attribute for the growth of Royal Roofing, it would 100% be social media.

I’d say there’s two things that helped me unlock growth for our company. One, you can see in the background, we wrapped our vehicles in ridiculously colored branding. And so branding number one is the foundation to all of our marketing. When you step out in the marketplace and you take chances, people will see you more frequently. They’ll understand who you are and they’ll be more apt to call you. So first one is branding. Second one is people. Who, not how, is how you grow a company. The strategies are only as good as the people that do the strategy. So I’d say hire really good people and they will execute your ideas for you. So that’s what I’d say.

Number one, brand your company loudly and aggressively. Two is hire really good people and you should see some amazing growth from zero to two million and plus. What is the one move I made that unlocked growth for my company? I think it was just continually investing in the client experience and then also at the same time continually investing in the brand equity. and growing. It leads to higher closing rates in your sphere of influence. It leads to higher value customers and it leads to a customer for life experience that keeps them coming back. And that’s how you build a lifetime flow of leads and quality people that you want to work with. So don’t skimp on the branding and don’t skip on the value adding processes to create raving fans.

For me, there were multiple things. I would say the biggest thing was mindset. Rather than having a mindset of I must shingle every single roof and I must sell every single roof, I started to change my mind. I started to decide that I can train other people to do these tasks and to do these things, and I can train them eventually to do them as well or better than me. The other thing that I did that was huge on this was I rebranded my company from TNG Roofing, which was a generic brand, to Trust Roofing. And I was looking for a brand that would inspire me, that could inspire a team, that could inspire the creation of a culture, could inspire a marketing effort and marketing attempts and I looked for that brand and I found that. So I would say between those two things, that’s what unlocked our growth of our roofing company.

One of the biggest moves that I did to help grow a business was to allow my team to go after it, set goals so big, and let them know that it’s okay to have permission for them to fail. Because we always learn the most from our failures, and if you can give your team the opportunity to go after it and not worry about disappointing you, and you can fail and fail forward, you’re going to learn so much more from that. You’re going to get better, and you’re also going to learn from those situations. most people always hold back, don’t give their 100 effort because they don’t want to disappoint you.

So talk to your team, let them know where you’re going, tell them your goals and have them go after it and let them know that it’s okay if they fail, not to be scared of it, to chase it, to go after it and learn from it and fail forward. That will let your team level up. Hey guys, the one thing that i did that unlocked the most growth for my company was putting the company in the public eye. The more the community sees your company, your brand, your face, the more they begin to trust you. The more they trust you, the more they want to work with you. And it’s a lot easier to run a company when your customers come and seek you out instead of you having to seek them out.

I was asked the question on how I unlocked growth in my business and the short answer is it was a period of time when, you know, when we were just kind of trudging along we experienced like exponential growth. And that was right around the same time I started investing in professional help. We hired a professional sales coach to help us build a sales system in our business. And I also started investing in professional, you know, business coaches and mentorships that helped me a lot.

But one of the things that I did personally was I got out of sales. I knew I needed to focus on my business. So it was hard to do, but when I finally just stopped selling and really focused on building my team and building my sales team as well as my staff around me, that unlocked incredible growth for our business.
