Lets Get Started

Our website design process, built for construction + home services is proven effective

1. We meet and dive deep on your competitive advantages

Building a website is like building a house, we need to determine all of the different types of features that will make sense for you and your business.

2. We create wireframes and block out the main functionality

This part of the process is generally internal, and I’m doing it in a lo-fi way and strategizing about how to include trust-factors, navigation systems, and the main buttons, etc.

3. The site is designed visually, and the aesthetics start to come together

We do “internal revisions” and then present to you – generally in person, followed by revisions based on your feedback.

4. The site is developed – in WordPress, so it’s responsive, and so you can edit the content

Before it was basically the blueprints and then the ‘artist’s rendering’ of the house, now it starts to be created for real, with ‘brick and mortar’ – in our case, code. We do quality assurance and prepare for launch.

5. We launch the site (on your hosting, or if you prefer on ours)

Usually, we have a soft launch (no announcement) about a week before we announce the new site is up. We love having a champagne launch when we’ve worked out any kinks and celebrating the new phase of your business’s success!

6. Optional: Drive Traffic

We love to work with clients in an ongoing engagement to drive traffic to the site; whether that’s with Social Media Marketing, or Search Engine Optimization – we are available to help you achieve your long-term goals of driving traffic, and thus, revenue creation from the site.

Letter from the owner – Tim Brown

We are extremely excited to find clients where what we can do can benefit them – we are constantly looking for new ways to service clients.

Started as ‘Tim B Design’ in 2012, I created Hook Agency to serve a wide range of clients, but have increasingly found a niche in home construction, and regional home services clients. Now the premier Minneapolis web design company for the construction industry – we help people create a web presence they can be proud of.

We are obsessed with customer service, creative thinking, and substantial results for our clients – whether it be in the initial website design, or driving traffic through content marketing, SEO, and social media marketing.

We have 17 employees who we trust – all in an effort to focus on only delivering the highest value digital marketing services in Minneapolis for a reasonable price. If after talking through a website redesign project with a business owner or marketing director, I don’t feel like we can make your company money or add undeniable value, I won’t write a proposal.

Yes – we are not for everyone. But no – we’re not just for big companies. We know how to make marketing dollars worth it, and how to focus on the activities that lead to R.O.I.

Where can you connect with other Minneapolis Web Designers?

Before We Get Started – here are places to connect with Minneapolis Web Designers!

As a Minneapolis web designer myself, I’m often asked to help someone find a good designer or developer when I’m unavailable. As a helpful resource, I’ve put together this list to help you find the right resource, and have even built a fledgling Minneapolis Web Designer Directory! Check out some of the people I’ve already added to it, and add yourself via the form if you’re available for freelance work.

After checking out this list – check out my Q & A with 5 Minneapolis Freelancers about how they’d suggest finding Minneapolis Web Developers and Designers.

1. Minneapolis Web Design Meetup and Minneapolis WordPress Meetup

Both of these meetups attract a wide array of people, including business owners, designers, developers and people just interested in becoming involved in the Minneapolis Web Design Community.

2. A good old fashion Google search – 5 Good ones to get the type of talent you want

Perhaps you need a great web designer, but don’t feel comfortable with or can’t afford an agency just yet. Here are some great searches to narrow down the scope of what you need and still find some great talent:

Minneapolis Web Design Freelancer

Freelance Web Developer Minneapolis

WordPress Web Design Minneapolis

Minneapolis WordPress Developer

Freelance Minneapolis Designer

If all of that doesn’t dig up a candidate, you can search on Craigslist, Thumbtack or even LinkedIn Search for ‘Freelance Web Designer Minneapolis.’

3. Searching on Dribbble and Behance.

Did you know you can search Behance for a location, and even provide a specific school if you’d like to take a more granular approach. Try searching ‘Minneapolis web design‘ or using the school search and searching Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), University of Minnesota, or The Art Institutes International Minnesota.

4. For employers looking for fresh talent – Speaking at schools, and attending portfolio shows

If your company really needs to up your digital marketing and design talent, have you ever thought about making stronger ties with some teachers who are incredibly aware of who’s who in their student body? How about reaching out and see if they need someone to speak on a topic you’re knowledgeable in?

Not sure where to start? Here’s the U of M design faculty – Copy and paste names for things you’re interested in, into twitter and start searching and tweeting!

5. The Minneapolis Web Designer Directory – Now accepting submissions

I’ve creating a resource for people looking for Minneapolis Web Designers, called the Minneapolis Web Designer Directory, and you can add yourself to it on the form at the top if you’re looking to share your work with the community and have freelance ability. This is my soft launch! Feel free to send me a note if you have any ideas for improvement, or to better provide visibility around Minneapolis Web Developers and Designers.
