Electrician marketing: the marketing efforts put forth by an electric company or an electrician in an effort to earn more leads and more business.

That’s a pretty simple definition of what electrician marketing is. It’s not complicated; it’s just the strategy that you use to get more leads for your business. But marketing as a whole can refer to a lot of different activities. Whatever it is, it’s essential that you implement strategies that work. It’s also important that you have a plan for the different efforts you’ll make to bring in leads. How will you accomplish the various marketing tasks, and what tasks will you focus more energy on. Here are some of the tips that we’ve found useful when marketing in the construction industry.

A Well Built and Designed Website

If you’re going to grow your business, then you need more than just a website. You need a well built and designed website that puts your electrician marketing efforts at the center. Sending people to a website that isn’t well built and designed is going to a waste of your time and marketing dollars. You need a great website that is going to meet them and make them feel confident about their business.

You need a company that’s going to design your website with sales and conversions in mind. It needs to look great, but it also needs to provide value. Here are some examples of great construction company websites. The websites within that blog post have been proven to convert and create sales opportunities for their owners.

Reviews and Referrals

Reviews and referrals should be a huge part of your marketing strategy if they aren’t already. It might seem really difficult to get referrals or reviews, but don’t let the difficulty scare you away from working hard to get them. Here’s a video I made with nine ways to get more reviews for your business.

Additionally, referrals are a great way to grow any business, including electrical contractors. Getting a good referral partnership going could be the difference when you’re trying to build up your pipeline over time. Here are three ways that you can build up more referrals.

  1. Partner with home builders and become their premiere partner through great customer service and a high-quality product.
  2. Get a referral partner from the same industry that has a different ideal customer and ideal project.
  3. Offer referral incentives in writing. Giving someone an incentive for referring business is a huge motivator.

Video Marketing

Video marketing is an often overlooked way of boosting your companies engagement and presence. Whether you’re creating full-blown ads for your services or you’re just looking to make some fun informational videos for Instagram and Facebook, there’s a lot that you can gain from using video in your electrician marketing strategy.

Electrician PPC

PPC is a resource for any and every type of business. Electrician PPC simply refers to the use of pay per click (PPC) ads for electricians or electrical contractors. PPC is a great way to get quick leads, but the unfortunate part about it is that you’re paying for every lead you get. In other words, in order to sell any business or get any leads, you’ll have to pay a certain amount to Google, depending on how high the competition is for the keyword that you’d like to target.

PPC can be a very effective way to get more leads for your company, but it can also be very expensive. The electrician industry is very competitive when it comes to Google ads. We encourage the use of PPC ads when a business needs an extra push or is trying to get more leads quickly. But, PPC shouldn’t be the only way that you get leads. Instead, it would be best if you considered using PPC along with a marketing tactic such as SEO.

SEO for Electricians

SEO or search engine optimization, is the process of making your website more discoverable when people are doing searches on the internet for services similar to what you offer. Optimizations for SEO can be made to both your website and content on your website. For example, my goal with writing this “Electrician Marketing” post is that internet users would be able to find it when they Google electrician marketing.

The only cost I have associated with reaching the people searching for this term is the time that it takes me to write this. That’s the power that SEO offers. Organic search results and rankings are based on the keywords you write for and the quality of content that you produce.
