“It’s Easier to Sell if You Believe in Your Product” – Jim Johnson

How to Attract the Best Roofing Salespeople

Attracting the right people to your team can make a huge difference when it comes to building a team that will help take your roofing company to the next level. When posed with the question of how to do this, Jim said this. “Create an environment that they want to be a part of.”

Create an Environment That They Want To Be A Part Of

Today, employees will often care less about money and finances and more about who they’re working for. Are they proud of their company and what it stands for? Do they believe in the mission that their organization stands for? Do they feel included and excited about going to work? Each of these are questions that should be considered before you keep hiring new employees.

Take time to develop a culture that isn’t just about making money can change your company for the better and help you keep the right people working for you longer. Having employees invested in your company is no small thing, and it’s definitely something that you should be striving for.

The Best Place to Look for Salespeople

There are many different places that you can go looking for employees and salespeople specifically. As Jim shares in his interview, over the years, he’s come in contact with many great salespeople, and he’s had to learn how to find them for both his business and other companies as well. Here are some of his tips.

How to Find the Door Knockers

If you’re looking for door knockers to help you sell your services, the best place to find them is in companies that they’re already door knocking for. All you have to do is go out, find the salespeople that are out there door knocking successfully right now, and recruit them to your team. If you have a quality company and a culture that they’re attracted to, you should be able to recruit them to your team, no problem!

The best part about recruiting door knockers is that they’re already out there, knocking and selling products the way you want to. That means you have less training to do and less time spent developing their skills.

Lead Oriented Sales

Best sales and marketing tools 2020

If you’re looking for lead oriented salespeople, then online is a great place to look! Use your website to post jobs, put it online, and post it on your social media. Creating a video that talks about your company culture and the type of people you’re looking for. When it comes to attracting new employees, you need to make it more about your company culture than you do about money.

Treat Recruiting Like Marketing and Hiring Like Sales

When you’re recruiting people to be on your team, you’re essentially marketing your company and the things you value to attract new people to be a part of your team. After you’ve attracted someone and they’re interested in interviewing for a position, you have to treat it like a lead. It’s then your job to sell your company to the potential employee and determine whether or not they’re going to be the right person for the role you’re offering.

At the end of the day, attracting good people to your team comes down to having good leadership and ensuring that you have the company culture to back it up. Be sure to listen to the full interview in the video above or on the podcast. This one is worth your time!
