We’re excited to get started and look forward to our first meeting with the team. In this post, we’ll cover the SEO Kickoff agenda, what it entails, and how you can get the most from your workshop with us. 

In the SEO workshop, we cover in detail who your three ideal customers are, blogs and blog titles, brand tone and voice, as well as your seven competitors. By the end of this blog, you will have a better idea of what our meeting will include, and how you can be as prepared as possible.

3 Ideal Customers

When it comes to your three ideal customers, we ask that you provide us with three real-life customers that you enjoy working with, and are profitable to you and your business. We also ask that you include problems they are having, as well as why they decided to work with your company. This process allows us to get a better picture of who we are writing to and helps to connect keywords that your ideal customers are most likely to search for. The last part we will cover is content for each step of the buyers’ funnel, which includes awareness, consideration, decision, and final push. This is an important piece to the puzzle because we are trying to reach customers in all stages of the buying process, instead of just limiting options to one stage of the process and limiting the number of people you reach.  

    • Awareness –  They realize they have a problem and are starting the research process
    • Consideration – Who they have to choose from, what options they have
    • Decision – Who/what solution they are going to choose
    • Final Push – A landing page that is optimized toward what people will be searching for during the stages of their research process

Blogs and Titles

We would like you to come prepared and think of some blog titles and ideas based on problems your ideal customers are experiencing. By doing it this way, we are able to give our input on these ideas and can work through them together. This process is done by researching the top keywords that these ideal customers are using and inserting those keywords into blogs/content that will help your business appear more in searches done on the internet. The goal is to make you a go-to and trusted source for your respected area of business by having the answers your future customers are looking for. 

Helping with Problems Outside Your Area of Business

Some of the other posts that will be done are ones that will help customers with more general topics such as employee attraction, or how to grow your business. This process helps to gain more traction on your website, and even if the people landing on your site don’t use your business, they still saw your company, and they may be able to refer you to someone looking for your type of business. It is such a big asset for your company if you can be knowledgeable in more than one area, and the more areas you can assist in, the more business opportunities you will have. 

Brand and Tone of Voice/Examples of Blogs 

Coming to us with a specific brand tone and examples of blogs you like will also give us a better understanding of the writing style you are looking for. Every writer has a specific style, but if there is a certain type that you like or believe relates to your customers best, let us know, and we will make it happen. We want to provide as much value to you and your customers as we can, but also want you to be a part of that process.

We perform a competitive analysis of the seven competitors you give us, and find the monthly traffic and keyword difficulty of high intent keywords they use. The monthly traffic shows the search volume for how often a target keyword is searched per month in a given country. Keyword difficulty shows the average number of individual sites (referring domains) linking to the search results that currently rank on the first page of results for a given keyword. This process helps to give a clear picture of what customers in the industry are searching for so you are better able to attract them, and match their searches with some of the top searched keywords.
