We started the hunt for an amazing copywriter 3 or 4 months ago – and ramped it up into a fever pitch about 2 months ago, knowing we needed someone who could output quantity AND quality. Bryce, came to the table and said… ‘yes.’ Yes I can do that, yes I can step up – yes I can do client interviews, and level up the overall depth of the content we’re putting out, plus keep up with the pace we need it at.

Bryce graduated from St. Thomas, and has worked for multiple Minneapolis agencies before coming onboard with Hook. He brings a long history of writing – and kicked off his time with us with a deep-dive on the mechanics and practical application of content strategy, that will give you a comprehensive introduction to the concepts and give you a window into how Bryce thinks about the role of content in the broader scheme of marketing.

Bryce Boyle Hoban - Digital Marketing, Content Strategy, SEO Specialist - Hook Agency, Minneapolis Minnesota Web Design and Search Engine Optimization

With a very relaxed temperament and super-friendly classic midwestern vibes – Bryce is an insanely awesome addition to our team, and we couldn’t be happier. Without further ado, here’s a little ‘interview’ with him as an introduction!

What’s your favorite 90’s movie?

Good Will Hunting

Have you ever built a snow fort?

Of course! I wouldn’t have had a true Minnesotan childhood if I hadn’t.

If someone wrote a biography about you – what would it be called?

“Living in the Moment”

What position did you play in baseball?

Centerfield (queue John Fogerty)

What was the first thing you ever wrote – and started to consider yourself a writer?

Not until around my junior year in high school, when I wrote a paper about the evolution of movies for an A.P. Composition class. My teacher was so impressed he thought I had plagiarized it.

What’s your weirdest fear?

That the Twins won’t win a World Series in my lifetime.

What business person / guru / entrepreneur do you soak up the most from?

Yvon Chouinard, Founder of Patagonia. I’ve always been drawn to how marketing can help your brand build connections with people, and Patagonia does it better than anyone else, despite minimal advertising.

Gun to your head – what meal would you cook to try to impress someone really important?

A breakfast feast – French toast, bacon, sausage, and eggs.

What’s the best business advice you’ve ever gotten?

When I was about 12 years old playing baseball, my shoelace loop got caught on my cleat while I as in leftfield catching a pop-up and I tripped and fell while the go-ahead run scored late in the game. I was pretty upset in the dugout, and one of my teammates dad’s came up to me and said, “If that’s the worst thing that happens to you today, then today has been a pretty good day.” Not so much advice, but as a business professional, you’re going to have good days and bad days. I think it’s a great reminder to keep things in perspective, have a positive attitude, and keep giving it your all!

And there you have it – this is the kind of attitude gold that makes any team better. This interview comes a little late as Bryce has been with us for over a month now, but what I’ve found is an amazing piece of having Bryce here is his resourcefulness and diligence. Our process is getting significantly better just by having him here – and the fact our process is leveling up makes me super optimistic about Bryce’s ability to continue to help our team output the best digital marketing services and value for construction companies and small businesses in Minneapolis.

Welcome Bryce!
